Beneficiary Applications Overview
Potential beneficiaries are invited to apply to the Trust for aid. These applications must be supported by at least one recognised professional health worker within Gibraltar in order to confirm that the applicant qualifies for assistance. Contact with the health workers will be made to guard against fraudulent applications.
Monthly, or upon more urgent receipt of applications the Trustees and Committee Members meet to determine suitability for aid and the priority of the applications given the funds available. Where funds are not immediately available the applicant will be advised. Every effort will be made to ensure funds are raised within an appropriate timescale as necessary.
Applications are assessed for the affect on the person’s quality of life, the urgency and the expense. Successful applications will demonstrate critical or chronic illness together with financial disadvantage.
Where funds are more appropriately available from alternative sources within Gibraltar these will be recommended to applicants as necessary.
There will be no limit to the number of applications any person may make.
All Trustees and Committee Members are subject to a legally binding confidentiality agreement concerning applications and the records held are controlled within the recommendations made by the Data Protection Ordinance of 2004 and any replacement thereof.
Allocation of Resources Overview
Faces will purchase the equipment that is applied for and give that equipment to the beneficiary. There will be no further contractual obligations on either part.
All purchases made will be researched and assessed with the health worker to ensure suitability.
Where ‘experiences’ are purchased these will be undertaken with strict medical supervision or approval as appropriate.
Cash will not be provided under any circumstances.
